Set Up Proxy

You can set a unique proxy IP address for each phone.

1. Set Up Residential VPS Proxy(If you Purchase a Proxy IP, you can skip this step)​

  1. Purchase a residential proxy IP VPS from your target country (preferably with a native IP and dual ISP VPS).

  2. Use https://github.com/MHSanaei/3x-ui to quickly set up a VPN on the VPS:

    # Follow the prompts to complete the VPN setup.

  3. After installation, access the x-ui web interface. You can find the URL and login credentials in the terminal output after installation.

  4. Create a new user in x-ui, set the protocol to SOCKS5, and configure the port and other settings as needed.

  5. After creating the user, you will see the proxy IP and port in the x-ui interface.

  6. Use the proxy IP and port in the NekoBox app on your phone.

2. Purchase Residential Proxy IP(If you set up a VPS, you can skip this step)​

You can also buy residential proxy IPs directly without setting up a VPS.

  • ipinfo — Check if the IP is residential.
  • scamalytics — Check the risk level of the IP.

3. Enable Proxy on the phone​

  1. Download the APK and Install the NekoBoxForAndroid client on your phone.
  2. Open the NekoBox app and click the + button to add a new proxy.
  3. Select SOCKS5 or other proxy types.
  4. Enter the proxy IP and port, then click Save.
  5. Click the Start button to enable the proxy.
  6. After the proxy is enabled, you can check the connection status in the NekoBox app.

For Chinese Users​

If you are in China, the SOCKS5 protocol may not work well. You need add a encryption proxy(VLESS) as the frontend proxy. You can use the following tools:

  1. Add a VLESS proxy in the NekoBox app.
  2. Add a SOCKS5 proxy in the NekoBox app.
  3. Add a Chain proxy in the NekoBox app. And select the VLESS proxy as the frontend proxy and the SOCKS5 proxy as the backend proxy.
